FAQ

What if I don’t have a group?

That’s okay! Submit the group form with just your name, and we will randomly match you with other compers to create a group.

What are you looking for in a winning stock pitch?

Strong pitches should present a clear, differentiated view supported by well-researched and defensible theses on why the market is currently mispricing the company. Presentations should be engaging and demonstrate a deep understanding of the business model, industry dynamics, and key drivers of value. The DCF analysis and implied valuation should confirm your qualitative evaluation and clearly support a long or short position. All team members should all be involved and ready to answer follow-up questions about the pitch.

How do I find a company?

Start by drawing from the news, your personal experiences, or inspiration from industry professionals. Are there certain industries you are interested in learning more about? Any market trends you’ve noticed recently or predict for the future?

Are there any restrictions on company or industry selection?

Companies must be publicly listed on the stock market. There are no other industry restrictions, though teams should choose companies with sufficient publicly available information to support rigorous analysis.

Can multiple teams choose the same company?

Yes. Multiple teams may evaluate the same company, and each team is expected to develop its own independent investment view and theses.

What resources should I use for my research?

Take advantage of Harvard’s extensive access to data and research platforms. Also see our list of recommended tools and resources here.
